There is no doubt that HESCO armor has proven itself in the heat of combat and has stood the test of time. Let’s take a quick look at a few FAQs about HESCO products:
- Can a civilian legally use body armor for personal protection?
While body armor is not sold internationally, at the time of writing, it is legal to own and wear in all 50 states of the US. However, there are certain restrictions:
- You cannot own body armor if you have been convicted of offenses involving a violent felony.
- It is illegal to ship body armor products to Connecticut (CT). However, it is legal to purchase and own armor products- albeit they can’t be shipped to any CT location.
- Wearing body armor while committing a crime would lead to a sharp increase in penalties.
- Which NJI armor level is just right for me?
There are different NJI levels depending on weight and level of protection offered. Level IV may seem the most suitable since it can stop high-power rifle ammo, but it isn’t easy to wear for long periods.
If the area you patrol does not have a history of rifle-related violence, you should consider level III or lower. Conversely, if the nature of your work prepares you to go into battle, it would be a good idea to opt for the maximum protection possible. All HESCO products are light and comfortable enough to be worn for an extended period of time.
- Why are HESCO plates sold individually instead of as a complete set?
The rationale is simple. It allows the user an unprecedented level of configurability and flexibility. This way, you can build your body protection system as per your own personal specifications. From ‘Shooter Cut’ to SAPI – HESCO caters to every style while retaining maximum mobility.
- Why should I prefer ceramic over steel plates?
Ceramic or composite body armor plates are very strong, yet much lighter than their steel plate counterparts. This means increased maneuverability and comfort, especially when you have to wear your armor plates for a very long time. Ceramic body armor offers the very latest in cutting-edge technology. These plates not only offer exceptional threat protection, but they can also exceed the protection typically offered by steel plates.
- Single or multi-curve: Which one is just right for me?
Multi curve designs offer far better comfort than most other armor plating systems available today. In fact, multi-curve models have been designed for a more anatomical and ergonomic fit when worn on the human torso. This is why they offer a better range of movement and flexibility over their single curve counterparts. HESCO offers single and multi-curve plates to suit every situation and budget.
It doesn’t matter if you have to go out in harm’s way in the call of duty, or even if you just want to be better protected against the dangers out there. Rest assured – HESCO body armor is your one-stop solution to all of your personal body armor needs!
