The Z210 answers a specific question: what is the lightest multi-curve low vis special threat plate available? At 3.3 lb in the 10×12 shooter cut and 0.62″ thick, it is the answer. A full pound lighter than the L211 and M210 at 4.9 lb. The lightest plate in the 200 Series by a meaningful margin.
The trade-off is coverage. The Z210 covers four threats: 5.56 M193, 7.62×39 M67 lead core, 5.56 M855/SS109 green tip mild steel core, and 7.62×39 M43 mild steel core. It does not cover 7.62x54R LPS, 5.56 M855A1, or 7.62×39 API. For professionals whose threat environment is defined by core 5.56 and AK-47 threats and who prioritize the lightest possible plate, the Z210 is purpose-built for that mission. For professionals who need coverage beyond those four threats, the M210 or U210/U211 are the right call.
