The information below is organized to support both individual selection and team procurement decisions. Coverage, weight, and construction trade-offs are explained in operational terms to help professionals make the right call for their assignment and their team.
The 3612LV brings Level III+ coverage to HESCO’s 600 Series in-conjunction-with (ICW) line. It is built to be worn over IIIA soft armor, where the soft armor handles handgun threats and the 3612LV adds rifle-rated coverage, including M855/SS109 green tip, in a low-profile package.
At 3.8 lb and 0.62″ in the 10×12 shooter cut, the 3612LV layers over soft armor for a Level III+ protection zone without the weight or bulk of a standalone plate. It is the 600 Series build in the III+ ICW family.
Because it is an ICW plate, the 3612LV is HESCO Rated Level III+ only when worn together with IIIA soft armor. It is not a standalone plate and is not rated on its own. Worn as designed, it covers common 5.56 including M193 and M855/SS109 green tip, the AK-47 threat family including 7.62×39 M67 and M43, and the .30 caliber rounds professionals encounter in the field: the 7.62×51 M80 (.308 NATO) and the 7.62×63 (30.06) JSP common across rural and suburban environments.
Within the III+ ICW family, all three share the same III+ threat coverage and differ by series, weight, and cost. The 3612LV is the value entry on the 600 Series, the 3810LV is the proven 800 Series flagship, and the 3811LV is the lightest option at a premium. For a Level III ICW option below the III+ family, the 3802LV is the entry point. As this is a new item, SierraTac offers the 3612LV as a special order. Contact SierraTac for specific lead time. General lead time is 2-6 weeks.

The 3612LV is built on HESCO’s 600 Series advanced composite platform, finished with a CORDURA nylon wrap that is water-resistant and abrasion-resistant for daily field wear. The multi-curve design provides ergonomic fit for longer wear periods, and the plate is engineered to layer over IIIA soft armor for a low-profile Level III+ protection zone.
The 3612LV is an ICW plate. The shot counts below reflect the plate worn as designed, in conjunction with IIIA soft armor, tested under NIJ methods. In this configuration the 3612LV is HESCO Rated Level III+ ICW. It is not certified or rated as a standalone plate. All shots tested at maximum velocity.
