HESCO 3802LV – 800 Series | Level III ICW Plate
The 3802LV is HESCO’s thinnest, lightest 800 Series rifle plate, built to layer over IIIA soft armor for a low-profile Level III ICW protection zone. At 2.2 lb and 0.55″ in the 10×12 shooter cut, it adds rifle-rated coverage against common 5.56, AK-47, and .30 caliber threats without printing under a covert or slick carrier. As an in-conjunction-with (ICW) plate, the 3802LV is HESCO Rated Level III only when worn with IIIA soft armor. It is not a standalone plate. Why the 3802LV?
The information below is organized to support both individual selection and team procurement decisions. Coverage, weight, and construction trade-offs are explained in operational terms to help professionals make the right call for their assignment and their team.
The 3802LV is the entry point to HESCO’s 800 Series in-conjunction-with (ICW) line. It is built to be worn over IIIA soft armor, where the soft armor handles handgun threats and the 3802LV adds rifle-rated coverage in the thinnest, lightest 800 Series package HESCO produces.
At 2.2 lb and 0.55″ in the 10×12 shooter cut, the 3802LV is built to layer without printing. That makes it the right call for plainclothes assignments, low-vis carriers, and daily wear where a professional needs rifle protection available without carrying the weight or bulk of a standalone plate across a full shift.
Because it is an ICW plate, the 3802LV is HESCO Rated Level III only when worn together with IIIA soft armor. It is not a standalone plate and is not rated on its own. Worn as designed, over IIIA soft armor, it covers common 5.56 rounds including M193, the AK-47 threat family including 7.62×39 M67 and M43, and the .30 caliber rounds professionals encounter in the field: the 7.62×51 M80 (.308 NATO) and the 7.62×63 (30.06) JSP common across rural and suburban environments.
For teams that need Level III+ coverage in the same low-profile ICW format, the 3612LV, 3810LV, and 3811LV step up the threat rating and add M855/SS109 green tip coverage. The 3802LV is where the ICW line starts: the thinnest and lightest option, sized for professionals who prioritize a low profile and all-day wear.
HESCO Level III and III+ ICW Plates
All four plates below are in-conjunction-with (ICW) plates. They are HESCO Rated only when worn together with IIIA soft armor, and none is rated as a standalone plate. The 3802LV is the thinnest and lightest, at Level III ICW. The 3612LV, 3810LV, and 3811LV move up to Level III+ and add M855/SS109 green tip coverage.

Construction and Features
The 3802LV is built on HESCO’s 800 Series advanced composite platform, finished with a CORDURA nylon wrap that is water-resistant and abrasion-resistant for daily field wear. The multi-curve design provides ergonomic fit for longer wear periods, and at 0.55″ it is HESCO’s thinnest 800 Series plate, engineered to layer over IIIA soft armor without adding bulk.

Ballistic Performance
The 3802LV is an ICW plate. The shot counts below reflect the plate worn as designed, in conjunction with IIIA soft armor, tested under NIJ methods. In this configuration the 3802LV is HESCO Rated Level III ICW. It is not certified or rated as a standalone plate. All shots tested at maximum velocity.
