The information below is organized to support both individual selection and team procurement decisions. Coverage, weight, and construction trade-offs are explained in operational terms to help professionals make the right call for their mission and their team.
The 3411 represents a different approach to Level III+ protection than the 3612, 3810, and 3811. Those plates are built on 600 and 800 Series advanced composite technology and optimized for minimum weight. The 3411 is built on 400 Series advanced composite construction and optimized for maximum threat coverage at the lowest price point in the certified Level III+ lineup. The trade-off is weight. At 5.5 lb it is heavier than the lightweight plates. For the right mission profile and budget situation, that trade-off is worth making.
It is also worth noting where the 3411 sits relative to Level IV. At 5.5 lb it is lighter than the HESCO 4403MC at 7.7 lb and the 4601 at 6.4 lb. For units evaluating Level III+ vs Level IV, the 3411 delivers the broadest Level III+ threat coverage at a weight that falls below both Level IV certified options in the HESCO lineup. The decision between Level III+ and Level IV comes down to whether AP M2 30.06 armor piercing coverage is a mission requirement. If it is, Level IV is the right answer. If it is not, the 3411 covers the threat spectrum comprehensively at a meaningfully lower weight and cost.
The 3411 covers everything the 3810 covers and adds three significant threats: 5.56 M855A1 enhanced performance, 7.62×39 API armor piercing incendiary, and 7.62×54R LPS. These are not common everyday threats in most domestic law enforcement environments, but for units operating in elevated threat environments, for government and military procurement requiring the broadest certified coverage, and for professionals who want the most complete threat profile available in a Level III+ standalone plate, the 3411 delivers it at a price point well below the 3810.
The plates below represent two approaches to Level III+ standalone protection. The 3612, 3810, and 3811 prioritize lightweight 600/800 Series construction for high-mobility operations. The 3411 trades weight for the broadest threat coverage in the lineup at a lower price point.

The 3411 is built on HESCO’s 400 Series advanced composite platform, finished with a CORDURA nylon wrap that is highly durable, water-resistant, and built for extended field use. Multi-curve design provides ergonomic fit for longer wear periods without sacrificing coverage.
All shots tested at maximum velocity. Shot counts reflect NIJ Standard-0101.06 test protocol requirements and represent the standardized certification test, not a limit on the plate’s capability.
