Why the PL350G3?

The PL350G3 is the third generation of Modlite’s pistol light. Two things are new.

A 1913 Picatinny rail lug in metal now ships alongside the universal polymer lug and the 1913 polymer lug. All three come in the box.

A switch stop screw threads into the body and locks out switch travel on one side, left or right. Modlite states this reduces unintentional activation and increases consistency. The Allen key ships with the light.

PLHv3 or OKWv2

The OKWv2 produces 200 fewer lumens than the PLHv3 and roughly half again the candela. It concentrates more of a smaller total into the hot spot. The PLHv3 spreads more of a larger total across a wider area.

The OKWv2. A tighter hot spot that reaches further, stays visible when other lights are in use, and is less prone to washout. Consider it for window tint, for the added throw behind a magnified optic, and if you prefer a tighter, brighter beam.

The PLHv3. A well defined hot spot with good spill, for those who prefer the added visibility. Consider it for a broader use as a great overall light beam and light profile.

Construction and features

• Switch stop screw. New for G3. Locks out switch travel on the left or right side. Allen key included.
• Metal 1913 Picatinny rail lug. New for G3. Ships alongside the polymer lugs rather than replacing them.
• Holster fit. Check with your holster manufacturer for PL350 compatibility.
• Switches on both sides. Modlite designed them for full-grip and single-grip activation.
• Battery access from the front. The cell comes out the front of the light, with no tools, and the light stays mounted.
• Single-mode. High output on every activation. This is the configuration Modlite specifies for weapon lights.
• Head compatibility. Modlite states the PL350G3 body accepts standard-size Modlite heads. Modlite does not publish which heads that includes. Contact us before ordering a head for this light and we will confirm the fitment against current Modlite information.

Output and runtime

Output belongs to the head. The PLHv3 runs 1,500 lumens and 60,000 candela at 6,500K. The OKWv2 runs 1,300 lumens and 95,000 candela at 5,800K.

Runtime is the same in both. On the included Modlite 1,600 mAh 18350 cell, expect about 30 minutes on high.

Modlite states that CR123 lithium primary cells are not supported in this light and can cause excessive heat, fire or explosion. Modlite recommends 18350-size Modlite protected cells.

A note on finish

Type III hardcoat anodizing varies slightly from part to part, and the variation is most visible on FDE. Sections of the same light can differ a little in shade. We mention it because we would rather you know before it arrives than after. It is normal for the process and it is not a defect.
