Unity Tactical AXON SL | SureFire/Modlite and Crane Laser

The Unity Tactical AXON SL provides single-button control of a weapon light, laser, or both devices simultaneously, depending on the selected configuration.

The 45-degree angled button positions the activation surface for support-hand thumb access. Its low-profile housing mounts directly to an M1913 Picatinny rail, with an optional AXON SL M-LOK mounting kit available separately.

Choose Your AXON SL Configuration

SureFire/Modlite Light-Only

The light-only AXON SL provides momentary and constant-on activation at the remote switch.

Press and hold for momentary illumination. Click to activate constant-on, and click again to turn the light off.

This allows constant-on operation without reaching back to the weapon light’s tail cap.

Crane Laser-Only

The Crane laser configuration uses a momentary-only switch.

Some compatible lasers recognize a double-tap from the remote switch and activate their own constant-on mode. Others do not.

The AXON SL does not add constant-on capability to a laser that lacks it.

SYNC Light and Laser

The SYNC configuration connects to both a weapon light and a compatible laser.

Pressing the single AXON SL button activates both devices together. Releasing the button ends momentary activation.

SYNC is momentary-only at the remote switch. It does not provide a mechanical constant-on latch for the weapon light.

However, this does not necessarily eliminate constant-on light operation. A SureFire DS00 tail cap provides an independent button at the light, allowing the light to be operated separately from the SYNC switch.

Laser double-tap constant-on remains dependent on the connected laser’s native functions.

If independent light and laser activation is required from the rail, the full-size AXON or two separate single-lead switches provide different control arrangements.

SureFire/Modlite Light Plug Compatibility

The SureFire/Modlite plug connects to compatible remote-switch tail caps using the traditional SureFire-style connector.

Compatible tail-cap interfaces include:

• SureFire UE
• SureFire DS00

These tail caps are used with compatible SureFire, Modlite, and Arisaka weapon-light systems.

The plug connects to the tail cap’s remote-switch port, not directly to the light body.

A compatible tail cap is required and is not included.

SureFire UE vs. DS00 Tail Caps

The tail cap affects how the weapon light can be operated independently of the remote switch.

SureFire UE: Provides the remote-switch connection without a separate tail-cap activation button. On the light-only AXON SL, momentary and constant-on functions are available through the switch.

SureFire DS00: Provides both the remote-switch connection and an independent tail-cap button.

The DS00 is particularly useful with AXON SL SYNC because it allows independent light activation, including constant-on, without activating the laser through the SYNC switch.

Crane Laser Plug Compatibility

The Crane Plug connects to a laser equipped with a compatible Crane remote-switch port.

Its right-angle connector helps route the lead close to the laser housing.

Compatibility depends on the specific laser and its remote-switch interface. Do not assume that every laser accepts a Crane Plug or supports double-tap constant-on.

The Crane-only AXON SL does not require a weapon-light tail cap.

AXON SL vs. AXON and ModButton Lite

Unity Tactical offers several remote-switch arrangements for different control requirements.

The AXON SL provides a compact, single-button arrangement.

The full-size AXON provides separate buttons for independent light and laser control from one switch housing.

Two single-lead ModButton Lite switches provide another way to control devices independently, with separate buttons and mounting positions.

The selection depends on whether the devices should activate together or independently, where constant-on operation is needed, and how much rail space is available for the controls.

Mounting and Placement

The AXON SL mounts directly to an M1913 Picatinny rail using the included mounting hardware.

Its 45-degree angled button face can be positioned for support-hand thumb activation.

An optional AXON SL M-LOK mounting kit allows installation on compatible M-LOK mounting surfaces.

The AXON SL uses its own mounting arrangement. ModButton Lite guards and SNAP adapters are not interchangeable with the AXON SL housing.

When positioning the switch, account for access to the button, lead routing, and clearance from hot surfaces and moving components.

Lead Length

The AXON SL configurations offered here use a 4.5″ lead length.

Choose the mounting position with enough length to reach the connected tail cap or laser without excessive tension or sharp bends.

The lead and plug form an integrated assembly, so lead length is a purchasing decision rather than an adjustment made during installation.
